Liam Weldon, Singer
Liam Weldon, Singer

Liam Weldon, outside his old haunt the Tailor's Hall, where he ran the Barethread Folk Club on Friday nights.

He also ran sessions there on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. He really just spent his week-ends there! It was Liam's idea to use the gas meter, which he found in Tailor's Hall.

He had intended to do a second Album and he wanted to call it "A yard of gas from a disconnected gas meter". This photograph is one of a series I did that day - we had great gas doing them! Sadly that Album was never made.

Just writing this I realise that this was the exact day that I met another Singer, Luke Cheevers for the very first time. Liam introduced me to Luke in the basement where the turf fire was blazing.
